The facelessness causes the most fear. Our incapable senses cannot hear, feel, taste or see it, but it is out there, lurking around the globe, waiting to attach itself to an unwitting victim.

A message from Dr Wimpie van Schoor (CSO Chairman)

In Durban, Chris reflects on the last few days of his visits to ships. He explains about the sudden change in men working at sea.

One seaman describes it as a choke-hold. Down the line, each confesses his fears. All the men, from the Philippines, Ukraine and Korea, sit on deck as a group.

The chaos seems angry. It is as if dark forces conspire to keep their victims captive in a cold place filled with fear and insecurity.
